Religion: The children will learn that Advent is a time to wait and prepare for the celebration of Jesus' birth. They will be asked to think of things they could do to prepare. The children will learn about the Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel told Mary that she was going to have the Baby Jesus and the Vistitation, when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth.

Peace Builder Activity: Review of praises, put downs and helping and hurting behaviors.Introduce the concept of righting wrongs.

Math: Problem Solving, comparing numbers, number order and counting by 2's.

Literacy Activities: The children will be introduced to the following Amazing Words: duckling, pond, paddle, proud, plunged and brave. They will participate in the shared reading of "Little Duckling" and will read independently "Rin the Rat" and "Tap! Rap! Sam!. The children will be introduced to the sound that the letter Rr stands for and will blend words that have this letter in them. Skills: compare and contrast, verbs, plot, using words correctly in context and phonemic awareness.

Printing: Practice correct formation of "Bb" and "Rr" Journals: Correlated with Literacy Activities
