About Mrs. Fouts

My name is Dawn Schagene Fouts and this is my sixth year at SSM.  Not only am I a teacher - I'm a daughter, sister, wife and the mother of two beautiful children.  I grew up in St. Helen's Parish and then attended Butler High School.  After a few years of working in the banking business, I decided to pursue a degree in philosophy from the University of Louisville, then went on to work on my Masters in Elementary Education.

After four years as a stay at home mom, I decided to go back to what I love the most - teaching, here at SSM.  My husband graduated from St. Stephen Martyr and we decided that since I was teaching here that we would become parishioners.  Our family lives in the community of Hikes Point and we are very hopeful to take up residence in the community of St. Stephen Martyr.

We have a daughter and a son that are already students here.  I teach 3rd graders, what I believe to be, the most valuable subjects; math, science and religion.  My primary goal is to have our children become logical thinkers and skilled problem solvers in all aspects of life.
