 About Miss Sims
I graduated from UK in 1975 and began my teaching career that same year. I spent 3 years teaching at St. Joseph's in Bardstown. After a terrible winter in 1978, I decided it was time to come back to Louisville. I was hired at St. Barnabas and taught there for 7 years. At the end of my time there, I interviewed with Mrs. Kalbhin. She hired me to teach second grade here at SSM. Nearly 25 years later, I have gone up to 3rd grade and now 5th and 6th grade. In August of 2010, I will celebrate 35 years teaching in the Archdiocese of Louisville. I have earned my Masters of Education from U.L. and have completed my Rank I (30 hours above a Master) with course work from various universities in the U.S.
During the summer, I love to travel. I have been in most of the western European countries. My favorite is Italy! I have only visited there 6 times. During two of those trips, I studied the Italian language at the University for Foreign Students in Perugia! That was so exciting.
I also enjoy learning about Space, and have had the opportunity to study with NASA Education programs in Virginia, Alabama, Florida, and Texas. I watch for the Space Station each time I know it is going over. It is easy to see, since it is the brightest object int he night sky.
