About Mrs. Brooks

I am a native Louisvillian, born and raised. I attended St. Barnabas for 8 years, and then began high school at Assumption.   I fell in love with teaching in high school.  I wanted to be “just like Mrs. Chadouin,” my Latin teacher. I began college with that goal, but married instead of graduating.  It took me a while to get back to school but I did it at the ripe old age of 38!

I have one son who is 38 years old and has his own painting and contracting business.  My husband, Jim, is retired (June 2004) after teaching 31 years in the Jefferson County Public Schools. (Don’t worry; I’m keeping him busier than he’s ever been before!)

I love my job and I love this school. St. Stephen has the best faculty and staff, the best students and, of course, the best parents. It is just amazing how many friends I have made working here.
