St. Stephen Martyr will host two Scholastic Book Fairs in the library during this school year:  October 31 to November 3, 2005 and January 23 to January 27, 2006.

My plan is for the library to be a welcoming place where students feel comfortable and successful. 

My motto is Be Independent.  I will be teaching library skills so students can find the books they want to check out.  My goal is by the end of the fourth grade students should be able to use the computer catalog without assistance, know if the book is fiction or non-fiction, and locate where the book should be on the shelf.

Book Check Out:

Kindergarten will start check out after the Christmas holiday.

First grade will check out one primary book.

Second grade will check out two primary books including selected chaper books.

Third and Fourth grades will be able to check out two books of their choosing or ones required by their teachers.

Fifth to Eighth grades may have a maximum of four books at one time.
