The purpose of the St. Stephen Martyr Parish Council is:

1.  To assist in the apostolic work of the Church as it is carried out in all its aspects, be they liturgical, formational, service, or administrative, within the region designated by the Archdiocesan leadership as St. Stephen Martyr Parish.

2.  To serve as a permanent structure for constructive dialogue, decision making, and leadership, and to provide resources, guidance, and encouragement for all parishioners to participate in an effective lay apostolate.

3.  To discern the needs, both spiritual and corporeal, of the Parish, the community, and the diocese of which this Parish is a part, as well as develop and implement programs to meet those needs.

4.  To encourage coordination and mutual assistance among all organizations and group activities within the Parish.
